RHIP ("we," "us," or "our") operates the RHIP mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App. Please read this policy carefully. By using the App, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Full name
- Email address
- Username
- Profile photo (if provided)
- Account type (standard, creator, or brand)
Location Data
With your permission, we collect your device's GPS location to provide location-based features, including nearby golf course discovery and course recommendations. You can disable location access at any time through your device settings.
User Content
We collect content you voluntarily submit to the App, including:
- Course reviews, equipment reviews, and content reviews
- Forum posts and comments
- Direct messages sent to other users
- Photos and images uploaded to the platform
- Poll responses and votes
Device and Analytics Data
We automatically collect certain information when you use the App, including:
- Device type, operating system, and version
- App usage patterns and feature engagement
- Crash reports and performance data
- IP address and general location (city/region level)
- Access times and dates
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the App and its features
- Calculate and update your RHIP Index score based on your reviewing activity
- Enable golf course discovery based on your location
- Power AI-assisted features, including course summaries, equipment insights, and the AI chat assistant
- Facilitate community features such as forums, direct messaging, and voting
- Track your Playing Handicap and round history
- Send service-related communications (account updates, security alerts)
- Analyze usage patterns to improve the App experience
- Enforce our Terms of Service and community guidelines
3. Information Sharing and Disclosure
Public Content
Certain information you provide is publicly visible to other App users, including your username, profile photo, RHIP Index score, course reviews, equipment reviews, content reviews, forum posts, and Playing Handicap data. Please be mindful of the information you share publicly.
Service Providers
We share information with third-party service providers who assist us in operating the App. These providers are contractually obligated to use your information only for the purposes of providing services to us. Our current service providers include:
- Supabase — Database hosting, user authentication, and data storage
- Anthropic — AI-powered features and intelligent content analysis
- Google (Gemini) — AI chat assistant and automated course/content summaries
No Sale of Personal Data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. RHIP is free to use and does not rely on advertising revenue. We do not share your data with advertising networks.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court order or government agency), or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

Our App integrates with third-party services that have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review their policies:

5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely on Supabase's cloud infrastructure. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest, secure authentication protocols, and access controls.
However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 16, we will take steps to delete such information promptly. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 16, please contact us at support@rhip.app.
7. Your Rights and Choices
You have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access and Update: You can access and update your account information at any time through the App's settings.
- Delete Your Account: You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at support@rhip.app or through the App's account settings.
- Location Opt-Out: You can disable location tracking at any time through your device's operating system settings.
- Notification Preferences: You can control push notification and email communication preferences through the App's settings.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have additional rights under applicable data protection laws (such as GDPR or CCPA), including the right to data portability, the right to restrict processing, and the right to object to processing.
8. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the App's services. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., resolving disputes, enforcing agreements).
We may retain anonymized or aggregated data that cannot be used to identify you for analytical and improvement purposes.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy within the App and updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
